Riding a motorcycle involves more skill than driving a car so it is obvious that you are in danger if you drink before riding your motorbike.
In a 1981 USA study, almost half of fatal accidents showed alcohol involvement. While a more recent European study showed a lower figure the study did conclude that riders that drink are more likely to be in an accident than others. Alcohol causes collision avoidance problems; the ability to countersteer and swerve are essentially absent.
